Lead Engineer, Budget & Cost Control

About the role

The Lead Engineer, Budget & Cost Control will oversee all cost management activities for large‑scale construction projects. You will ensure budgets are adhered to, financial risks are identified early, and cost‑saving opportunities are maximised throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, analyse and control project costs from inception to completion.
• Develop and implement cost control plans, procedures, systems and reporting tools.
• Review change requests, variations and claims, assessing financial and schedule impacts.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash‑flow projections and annual budget estimates.
• Identify cost variances, risks and trends and propose corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project teams to optimise manpower and equipment utilisation.
• Ensure accurate cost data entry and verification in Oracle ERP.
• Maintain cost databases, dashboards and provide early warnings on financial risks.
• Mentor junior cost control team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• PMP certification (mandatory); additional Cost Engineering or Project Controls certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of budget and cost control experience on mega‑construction projects.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on change management, variations and claims handling.
• Proven experience with large‑scale infrastructure, building or EPC projects.
