Senior Data Engineering Expert

About the role

Amadeus is looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineering Expert with deep expertise in the airline IT domain. You will lead the design, development, modernization, and governance of enterprise‑scale data platforms and integration ecosystems that support commercial, operational, and customer‑facing functions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise‑wide data architecture strategies, designing scalable, resilient, and secure data platforms for analytics, reporting, and machine‑learning workloads.
• Lead modernization of legacy environments toward cloud‑native Lakehouse architectures using Azure and Databricks.
• Architect and build batch and real‑time data pipelines, reusable ETL/ELT frameworks, and streaming solutions.
• Establish data engineering standards, governance frameworks, data quality controls, lineage tracking, and observability capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise‑scale data platforms, preferably in airline, aviation, travel or transportation industries.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure, Databricks Lakehouse, Apache Spark, Scala, Delta Lake, and modern orchestration frameworks.
• Strong background in data warehousing, analytical data modeling, SQL optimization, and large‑scale data management.
• Hands‑on experience with Master Data Management, metadata management, and data governance.
