Tax Accounting Specialist – Direct Operations (Riyadh)

About the role

The Tax Accounting Specialist will lead comprehensive tax compliance for corporate income tax (CIT), value‑added tax (VAT) and withholding tax (WHT) across the Middle East and Africa region. The role ensures timely filing, provides tax advice to subsidiaries and representative offices, and acts as the primary contact for tax audits and regulatory updates.

Key responsibilities

• Perform monthly tax reviews and reconciliations for the parent company and all subsidiaries.
• Prepare and deliver monthly tax health reports to the Group Finance Manager and Finance Director.
• Conduct quarterly internal audits and gap analyses of tax ledgers.
• Monitor and communicate changes in tax legislation for all applicable jurisdictions.
• Manage internal and external tax audits, including preparation of tax figures and disclosures for financial audits.
• Provide tax training to business units and support IT in configuring tax settings in ERP systems.
• Oversee filing, review (including third‑party filings), recalculations and confirmations of tax returns.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (business, finance, IT) and external tax authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in tax advisory or multinational tax compliance.
• Proven track record of implementing CIT and VAT processes.
• Strong accounting knowledge (P/L, balance sheet, cash‑flow, disclosures).
• University‑level education in finance or taxation.
• Experience with tax portals, ERP systems; familiarity with Orion or OneSource is a plus.
• Qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, SOX and SOCPA.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle environments and advanced Excel.
• Background in multinational companies or Big 4 firms.
