Vector/Pest Controller - PSAB, Saudi Arabia

About the role

KBR is hiring a Vector/Pest Controller for its PSAB program at Prince Sultan Air Base in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program delivers base operating support-installation services to the 378th Air Expeditionary Wing, mission partners and tenant units, including five remote Army sites. The pest controller performs integrated pest management, runs pest surveys and coordinates with medical activities to control health hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect buildings, land and surroundings for infestation and determine the actions needed to control and prevent plant and animal pests
• Spray chemicals, lay poison bait, set mechanical traps or apply other treatments, and clean areas to prepare them for fumigation
• Implement and develop pest management plans in line with USAF-approved AFIs, ensuring effective plans and adequate inventories
• Coordinate with medical activities and cooperate with U.S. deployed forces and KSA authorities
• Control OCN personnel escorting during work hours and ensure customer satisfaction
• Perform routine tasks under supervision and deliver services to 4,000 personnel, plus or minus 10%

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 2 years of licensed pest control experience
• Preferred: USAF AFSC 3E4X3 Pest Management or similar military/DOD MOS, and completion of the USAF school is highly desired
• Valid DoD certification in categories 6, 7 and 8, or a state certified applicator license with DoD equivalence
• U.S. citizen with a current U.S. driver's license and a passport book with at least 13 months of validity and 6 blank pages
• Valid U.S. SECRET security clearance maintained throughout the contract
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English
• Ability to work in a wartime or contingency environment and to meet CENTCOM MOD-15 theater requirements
• Preferred: experience delivering DOD BOS-I or similar work overseas or in a contingency environment, and USAF experience

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
• Knowledge of QHSE guidelines and use of various pest-control equipment
• Proactive, organized, results-oriented and team player with strong communication and customer service skills

Working conditions

• Indoors and outdoors, with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise and chemicals
• Overtime, shift work and occasional to frequent travel; moderate physical exertion, lifting up to 35 lb alone and 50 lb with a team
• PPE such as hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, hearing and eye protection, and possibly Level III/IV body armor
