Executive Director – Mega-Projects Portfolio

About the role

The Executive Director – Mega-Projects Portfolio will set the strategic direction and oversee execution of the organization’s large‑scale project portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures that all mega‑projects align with corporate objectives, stakeholder expectations, and the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the strategic vision and operational plans for the mega‑projects portfolio.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of project managers, engineers, finance specialists, and operational staff.
• Establish metrics and performance indicators to monitor project success and drive continuous improvement.
• Engage with government entities, financial institutions, and community organizations to secure support and collaboration.
• Direct resource allocation, workforce planning, budgeting, and materials management to optimize project performance.
• Oversee the full project lifecycle from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience managing large‑scale mega‑projects.
• Proven expertise in portfolio management of infrastructure or large capital projects.
• Strong track record in strategic planning, budget management, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship‑building abilities.
• Deep understanding of risk management, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Experience leading change‑management initiatives in large organizations.
