Instrumentation Engineer Intern – 2nd Industrial City

About the role

The I&C Co‑op/Intern will join NOV's Instrumentation & Control Engineering team in Saudi Arabia, supporting design deliverables for oil & gas process projects. This full‑time, on‑site position offers hands‑on exposure to instrument design, documentation, and limited procurement activities under senior engineer supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Understand the scope of design, work, and supply for instrumentation systems.
• Generate technical datasheets, bidding evaluations, and related data from project specifications.
• Prepare and update instrument indexes, I/O lists, and cable schedules.
• Review vendor documents for instruments, analyzers, valves, and control panels for compliance.
• Maintain documentation, checklists, registers, and action logs for project tracking.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, and Piping disciplines and with vendors as required.
• Perform miscellaneous technical and documentation tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Junior or senior student, or recent graduate, with a willingness to learn EPC project practices.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation principles, control loops, and PLC/DCS concepts.
• Ability to follow established procedures, drawings, and templates.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
