Senior Audit Professional – Utilities & Energy (Riyadh)

About the role

Deloitte is seeking a Senior Audit professional to join its Utilities & Energy practice in Riyadh. You will work with a diverse set of clients, delivering high‑quality audit and assurance services while navigating complex regulatory environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust and credibility with stakeholders by understanding their service expectations.
• Deliver high‑quality audit services with practical awareness of regulatory and risk‑management impacts.
• Research key statistics and industry matters before engagements begin.
• Adapt referral instructions to clearly define audit scope and focus areas.
• Understand and communicate the structure of group audits and intended audiences.
• Liaise effectively with onshore and offshore Centers of Excellence, ensuring accurate information exchange.
• Track deliverables from component auditors and assess their relevance.
• Link risks, controls, procedures and findings across audit files in a timely manner.
• Articulate audit quality milestones and their contribution to overall audit quality.
• Challenge audit plan timings and propose earlier execution where appropriate.
• Prepare documentation that anticipates reviewer questions, distinguishing accounting from auditing judgments.
• Develop relationships beyond the finance function to enhance understanding of client operations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of audit processes within the utilities and energy sector.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and assess risk implications.
• Experience with group audit structures and coordination of component auditors.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with onshore and offshore teams.
• Analytical mindset to connect risks, controls and audit findings.
• Proactive approach to anticipate reviewer inquiries and prepare thorough documentation.
• Capability to build relationships across various client functions.
