Assistant Manager - Procurement

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Procurement will support the Procurement Manager in overseeing end‑to‑end purchasing activities for Coastal Contracting Company. The role ensures that tendering, contract preparation and vendor management are carried out in line with company standards, Delegation of Authority and relevant contractual frameworks, contributing to efficient and value‑driven procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Administer purchasing processes, drive standardisation, automation and outsourcing where appropriate.
• Assist in pre‑qualifying prospective bidders and preparing tender documents, agreements and contract terms.
• Prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) following company procedures and Delegation of Authority.
• Evaluate tender proposals, select and appoint suitable consultants or contractors.
• Compile and review contract documents prior to execution.
• Support vendor relationship management, negotiate long‑term supply contracts and extract best value.
• Monitor supplier performance, update preferred vendor lists and address under‑performance.
• Track pending orders to avoid shortages and ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with TRSDC standards, health & safety (OH&S) and QA/QC procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, tendering and contract administration, preferably within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Delegation of Authority processes and vendor performance evaluation.
• Strong understanding of OH&S and QA/QC requirements in a project environment.
