CNC Machine Operators – VTL & HBM

About the role

The CNC Machine Operator will set up, program and run vertical turning machines (VTL) and horizontal boring machines (HBM) to produce precision components. The role involves reading and editing G‑code, adjusting tool offsets and ensuring parts meet strict dimensional tolerances in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC VTL and HBM equipment according to drawings, blueprints and verbal instructions.
• Read, edit and verify G‑code programs and adjust tool offsets as required.
• Perform shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling and part geometry.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check dimensional tolerances.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Collaborate with shop personnel and cross‑functional teams.
• Report accidents, incidents or hazards promptly and comply with quality, safety and environmental systems.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documents.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Mechanical aptitude with experience editing G‑code.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated, positive and team‑oriented attitude.
