Exploration Director

About the role

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking an experienced Exploration Director to lead the identification and acquisition of high‑quality gold resources in Saudi Arabia. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape the upstream strategy that secures long‑term feedstock for our refining operations and supports the Kingdom’s mining sector growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the annual exploration strategy to locate viable gold assets.
• Manage the application, renewal, and compliance of exploration licenses with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.
• Oversee drilling campaigns and geological modeling to produce accurate resource estimates.
• Control the exploration budget, ensuring efficient capital allocation across projects.
• Enforce strict health, safety and environmental standards for all field activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, local communities, and joint‑venture partners.
• Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of geologists and field specialists.
• Prepare and submit technical reports to regulatory authorities and internal leadership.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum 20 years of mineral exploration experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven success in gold exploration within the Middle East or similar regions.
• In‑depth knowledge of Saudi mining laws and MIM licensing procedures.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel as required.
