Government Relation Officer

About the role

The Government Relation Officer supports Marriott International's HR team in Riyadh by handling employee relations, onboarding, and compliance tasks. This full‑time position works closely with managers and the leadership team to ensure smooth HR operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist management and leadership with resolving HR issues.
• Process internal and external employee transfer requests.
• Support hiring processes, including drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and SSN verification.
• Maintain applicant flow logs, orientation records, and transfer request documentation.
• Create and manage new‑hire and personnel files in the HR Information System.
• Conduct new‑employee orientation and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Support payroll record maintenance as needed.
• Generate HR data reports and handle phone inquiries.
• Serve as HR subject‑matter expert on project teams and train new hires on HR processes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related HR experience.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Familiarity with HR processes such as hiring, onboarding, employee transfers, and record maintenance.
• Ability to conduct background checks, drug screens, and verify documentation.
• Proficiency in using HR information systems for file management and reporting.
