Jumbo Operator – Tunnelling Project

About the role

The Joseph Gallagher Group is seeking experienced Jumbo Operators to join a major tunnelling project in Saudi Arabia. You will operate large‑diameter drilling equipment within a New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) environment, supporting the excavation of underground infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Operate jumbo drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Carry out pre‑start inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Follow detailed excavation and drilling plans.
• Maintain production targets while adhering to all safety procedures.
• Report any equipment issues promptly to the maintenance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating tunnelling jumbos.
• Experience on NATM or SCL tunnel projects.
• Strong understanding of underground safety requirements.
• Relevant equipment certifications and licences.
• Availability on short notice is preferred.

Required skills

• Operation of tunnelling jumbo machinery.
• Knowledge of NATM and SCL tunnelling techniques.
• Underground safety compliance.
• Equipment inspection and routine maintenance.
