Retail Inventory Controller

About the role

The Retail Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels across stores, warehouses and ERP systems. You will support retail operations by delivering timely inventory reports, conducting audits and investigating discrepancies. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work closely with store and warehouse teams.

Key responsibilities

• Run daily, weekly and monthly inventory reports and analyse item performance.
• Develop and continuously improve inventory reporting structures.
• Identify high‑turnover and low‑turnover items and provide insights to relevant teams.
• Control inventory adjustments and perform quantity and price variance analysis.
• Investigate system and inventory discrepancies and drive timely resolution.
• Maintain high levels of internal and external customer service.
• Minimise inaccuracies in store stock data and ensure reliable inventory records.
• Plan and execute stock audit processes from preparation through completion.
• Ensure stock quantities and revenue are accurately reflected across ERP systems.
• Organise and analyse large volumes of inventory data efficiently.
• Proactively identify process‑improvement opportunities and recommend changes.
• Coordinate store receiving and shipping of inventory to and from warehouses.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail inventory control or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work with ERP systems and manage large data sets.
