Tunnel Foreman

About the role

Joseph Gallagher Ltd is seeking an experienced Tunnel Foreman to join a major tunnelling programme in Saudi Arabia. You will lead on‑site crews, coordinate daily activities and ensure that all work is carried out safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and supervise a team of tunnelling operatives, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, enforce safety protocols and manage emergency response within the tunnel.
• Develop and execute daily work plans, coordinate equipment usage and ensure timely task completion.
• Monitor quality of excavation, lining installation and ground support to meet project specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily progress reports, incident logs and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, site managers and other trades to resolve issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in underground construction, preferably on NATM or SCL projects.
• Previous supervisory or foreman experience in tunnelling.
• Strong knowledge of tunnelling safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
